The FTC expects a clear, plain-language explanation of how people can ask you to remove intimate images shared without their consent. Copy this template, replace the parts in [brackets], and publish it on a page linked from your site footer.

How to use it

  1. Replace everything in [brackets] with your details.
  2. Publish it as its own page, for example /report-intimate-images.
  3. Link to it from your footer and from anywhere users can post images or videos.
  4. Make sure the request link works without logging in.

The template

Reporting intimate images shared without consent

[Platform name] does not allow intimate images or videos of a person to be shared without their consent. This includes images that were created or altered with AI ("deepfakes").

How to ask us to remove it
If an intimate image or video of you was posted on [Platform name] without your consent, you can ask us to remove it here: [link to your request form]
You do not need an account. You can also send us a request by email at [your takedown email address].

Please include:
1. Links to the image(s) or video(s), or other details that help us find them.
2. A short statement that you believe, in good faith, that the content was shared without the consent of the person shown.
3. Your name and how we can contact you.
4. Your signature. Typing your full name is enough.
If you are reporting on behalf of someone else, for example as a parent, guardian or lawyer, please tell us.

What we do next
- We will confirm that we received your request and give you a reference number.
- We will remove the reported content, and any identical copies we know of, within 48 hours of a valid request.
- We will tell you when it has been removed, or explain why we could not remove it.
- We may block the same image from being uploaded again.

If the person shown is under 18
Please tell us in your request. We treat these reports with the highest priority and report them as the law requires.
